OpenAI, a pioneer in artificial intelligence technology, recently announced it secured a monumental investment of $6.6 billion, and in the past two months, it has gained 50 million new users. While revealing the significant investment, the company stated that the number of weekly users for ChatGPT has surpassed 250 million worldwide.

Back in November, ChatGPT had only half of that user base, demonstrating its ability to rapidly expand. In June, according to internal documents obtained by The New York Times, OpenAI’s AI tools were being used by 350 million people monthly. However, there hasn’t been clear information on how many of these users opted for paid subscriptions versus those using the free version. While the exact reasons for this rapid growth are not fully understood, it is believed that the reopening of schools has played a significant role, with students turning to ChatGPT for help with their assignments and research.

As the use of artificial intelligence becomes increasingly common in education, students are leveraging ChatGPT to quickly access information more frequently. Additionally, users from a wide range of sectors, from creative projects to easing tasks in the business world, are turning to this AI tool.

This rapid growth in OpenAI’s user base also highlights the company’s potential for future expansion. Reports that Apple plans to integrate ChatGPT into its upcoming Apple Intelligence system are seen as a strong signal that this growth will continue. Experts predict that this integration will lead to an even larger user count for ChatGPT.
