Today, Istanbul is hosting a critical summit for investment.

The 10th meeting of the Investment Advisory Council, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has begun in Istanbul.

The opening speech of the meeting, held at the Dolmabahçe Working Office, was delivered by President Erdoğan for the first time since 2016.

Top executives from the world’s most significant companies are attending the meeting, with a total collective size of approximately $3.5 trillion.

GLOBAL GIANTS ATTENDING

Representatives from 13 countries in the energy, automotive, technology, asset management, financial services, transportation, and telecommunications sectors are participating in the meeting.

Among these companies are “Templeton Asset Management (asset management), Qatar Investment Authority-QIA (investment management), Vitol (energy and commodity trading), Emirates NBD (financial services), Mitsubishi Corporation (various sectors), Chery (automotive), ACWA Power (energy), MASDAR (renewable energy), BRF (food).”

RESULTS DECLARATION TO BE ANNOUNCED

During the meeting, international investors will share their assessments of the investment climate in Turkey. A results declaration, prepared in consultation with the investor companies, is also expected to be announced at the conclusion of the meeting.

As with previous meetings of the Investment Advisory Council, it is planned for one of the representatives from the participating companies to publicly announce the results declaration after this meeting as well.

MINISTER ŞİMŞEK TO PRESENT

The meeting, organized with contributions from top executives of international companies to improve the investment environment in Turkey, will be attended by President Erdoğan, along with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, President of the Presidential Strategy and Budget İbrahim Şenel, President of the Presidential Investment Office Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, and representatives of business umbrella organizations.

It is also anticipated that Minister Mehmet Şimşek will give a presentation during the meeting.

OPPORTUNITIES IN TURKEY TO BE PRESENTED

During the meeting, Turkey’s investment opportunities will be introduced to the global business community. Foreign investors will be informed about opportunities in digital transformation, green transition, and global supply chains.
