### Çan2 Thermal Power Plant Stands Out with Environmentally Friendly Production

Ahmet Can emphasized that the Çan2 Thermal Power Plant, with a capacity of 340 MW, is one of the few private sector plants in Turkey with an Environmental Permit and License. He mentioned, “Our plant has a flue gas treatment system equipped with state-of-the-art technology, achieving a 99.3% efficiency rate, and it stands out as an environmentally friendly facility among conventional plants as it lacks a bypass feature in the flue gas treatment system. Additionally, we are one of the first coal plants to have a zero-waste certificate. Our waste management policy contributes to reducing the pressure on natural resources and helps establish a sustainable supply-production chain for future generations.”

### Odaş: An Important Player in Fly Ash Export

Ahmet Can noted that they also export fly ash abroad, stating, “Since 2020, we have exported over 1.3 million tons of fly ash and synthetic gypsum to the USA, Canada, and various European countries.”

### Akçansa General Manager Yılmaz: “A Significant Example of Our Circular Economy Approach”

Akçansa General Manager Vecih Yılmaz remarked, “With our vision to be the company with the highest stakeholder value in sustainable building materials in Turkey, we continue our activities with a focus on minimizing our environmental impacts. Fly ash, which is a valuable material and alternative raw material in cement and ready-mix concrete production, supports a production process that minimizes environmental effects and uses resources efficiently when utilized correctly in production processes. This step, which is a significant example of our circular economy approach, will also contribute to our climate change combat strategy. Through this collaboration, we are committed to the responsible use of resources.”

The sale of fly ash produced at Odaş Elektrik’s Çan2 Thermal Power Plant to Akçansa is seen as an important step that will facilitate both companies in achieving their sustainability goals and contribute to Turkey’s transition to a circular economy.
