Otokar has won a major tender from Romania valued at 4.2 billion lei.
1059 Armored Vehicles for the Romanian Army
Otokar Automotive and Defense Industry Inc. announced on October 4, 2024, that it has won the Romanian 4×4 Tactical Wheeled Light Armored Vehicle Tender. As part of this tender, 278 vehicles will initially be produced at Otokar facilities. The production of the remaining 781 vehicles will take place in Romania at a later stage.
Statement from Otokar Regarding the Major Tender
In a statement from the company, it was noted that a bid was submitted for the tender opened by the Romanian Ministry of National Defense’s company, C.N. Romtehnica S.A. (Romtehnica), on March 20, 2024. Following technical assessments, field tests, and commercial evaluations, Otokar won the tender to produce 1059 armored vehicles for the Romanian army.
The tender, valued at 4,263,286,655.66 RON (Romanian Lei), further demonstrates Otokar’s commitment and position in the defense industry.
