Parabank in Brazil collaborates with Dock to introduce an accessible card program for individuals with disabilities
Parabank, a digital challenger seeking to improve financial access for disabled people in Brazil, has partnered with financial technology infrastructure provider Dock to build and launch a new card programme.
Parabank launches credit and prepaid cards with Dock
The partnership will see Parabank offer credit and prepaid debit cards tailored to “the purchasing and payment needs of consumers with a wide range of disabilities”, according to a joint statement.
The challenger says it has adopted Dock’s private-label card processing platform to “function as a financial services hub to assist people with disabilities in accessing treatment”.
The cards will enable users to tap into a wide range of benefits, including partnerships with rehabilitation clinics, a marketplace with products and services and access to investment services.
“A prosthesis, for example, is very expensive, and it is difficult for people with disabilities to obtain a loan for this purchase,” explains two-time Paralympian and Parabank CEO Gelson Junior.
“Our objective with Parabank is to develop accessible and inclusive financial solutions that really make a difference in people’s lives.”
The challenger will now also look to “improve access for people with visual impairments” by launching physical cards with Braille and tactile functionality.
It also intends to expand its service offerings to include people with other types of disabilities, such as intellectual disabilities, who also require financial support to access rehabilitation or other specialised medical services.
