Yandex aims to strengthen its position in the Turkish digital market and confirm its commitment as a long-term, reliable partner by continuously developing locally relevant products and services.

Alexander Popovskiy emphasized Yandex’s determination to establish lasting business relationships in Turkey.

TURKISH-LOCALIZED PRODUCTS

Popovskiy announced the upcoming release of a series of products specifically designed for Turkey:

“Our goal is to provide value to Turkey as a whole and to build upon the successes we’ve achieved in previous years.”

He highlighted that the company is focusing on developing hyper-local products that meet the specific needs of Turkish users. “We’re excited to announce the launch of an AI-powered search product tailored for Turkey, as well as other fully localized services in the near future,” he added.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE AND ECONOMIC POTENTIAL

Popovskiy noted that Yandex’s approach to competing with global players strongly emphasizes local language, culture, and the needs of local users. “While many global companies stick to a ‘one size fits all’ approach, we advocate for being ‘local’,” he stated.

He also expressed his enthusiasm for the progress Turkey has made in fostering greater competition in its technology sector.

“Despite challenges, the Turkish economy continues to grow and develop. With one of the top 10 internet usage rates in the world, Turkey offers a fertile ground for innovation, and we are eager to contribute to the digital landscape of Turkey,” he said.

Popovskiy further emphasized the Turkish government’s commitment to promoting healthy competition in the technology market and digital economy, benefiting businesses as well as end-users who gain access to better and more innovative products.

NEW NAVIGATION FEATURES AND BUSINESS SUPPORT

Yandex Search, which has a total of 6 million users monthly in Turkey, provides services such as Search, Maps, and Navigation. Popovskiy announced plans to improve user experience in Turkey by adding new features to navigation services, including unique information about the cities.

He also highlighted Yandex’s role in supporting Turkish businesses: “We are pleased to see how our B2B solutions help local businesses grow. This includes our well-known digital advertising products and the recently launched Yandex Maps API service, which collectively serve over 300 Turkish businesses.”

Popovskiy mentioned that a new special program has recently been launched, offering free access to some of Yandex’s B2B services and involving more than 40 Turkish entrepreneurs.
