Turkey’s Capital Markets Association Warns Investors Against Scammers
The Türkiye Sermaye Piyasaları Birliği (TSPB) has issued a warning to investors about fraudsters.
It was noted that these scammers use the titles and logos of authorized institutions operating in the capital markets on their phone calls or social media accounts, as well as counterfeit brokerage documents and the names of individuals working at these institutions.
Reports have increased regarding scammers convincing investors to open new accounts with promises of high returns, followed by requests to send money to these accounts.
TSPB emphasized that investors should absolutely not trust such fraudulent attempts.
In this regard, investors were reminded to verify the official communication and website information of institutions.
Additionally, it was advised to confirm bank account and IBAN details with authorized institutions.
Videos that feature the voices and images of prominent figures, including government officials and well-known businesspeople, created using AI-based techniques on fake social media accounts, are completely fraudulent, as stated.
